Shetland-born Andrew has trained and worked in some fantastic salons around Scotland.

After moving to Aberdeen in 2000 to complete his assessor’s awards, he worked as the assistant manager in a popular, small salon in the city. With a wealth of experience and having worked as a College Lecturer, he decided the next step was to start out on his own.

With a lot of help from relatives and friends (without which it would not have been possible) and a tiny budget, Biyoni was born!

Andrew has been involved in various photo shoots, training and fashion events throughout the country, but still loves nothing more than getting his hands on willing clients in the salon.

In 2010 he was named Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year in the Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise and was previously winner of the Shell Livewire Entrepreneur for the northeast.

When not at work, you can usually find Andrew in the kitchen conjuring up some culinary masterpiece (or so he thinks) or hanging out with his long suffering wife and friends. He also plays mean bass guitar...bring on the funk.
